Understanding Computer Language
Computers communicate through the language of voltage and electrical currents.
Transistors and Voltage
Computers utilize transistors to represent binary data with electrical voltage:
- High Voltage (1) - Represents binary 1
- Low Voltage (0) - Represents binary 0
Computer Language Isn't Binary
Contrary to common belief, computers don't understand binary as a language. They interpret electrical currents:
- High Current: Represents 1
- Low or No Current: Represents 0
So, the fundamental language of computers is the manipulation of electrical currents, not binary code itself.
Understanding this electrical language is essential for grasping the inner workings of computers and digital systems.
